Mike Lawson

Mike Lawson has been a solo practitioner in the Nashville area since 1982. He has litigated to conclusion more than 35 civil and criminal jury trials and either tried or settled numerous complex cases, including medical malpractice, products liability and class action litigation. His practice currently emphasizes class action and medical malpractice litigation, but also includes motor vehicle accidents and premises liability.

 

Mr. Lawson has spoken to attorneys before the Tennessee Association for Justice and the Tennessee Bar Association and has written several trial-related articles. He has been trial counsel for cases in Ohio, Kentucky and Georgia, as well as Tennessee. In addition to being admitted to the Bar of Tennessee, he is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Eastern and Middle Districts of Tennessee, the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Lawson has been certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the State of Tennessee and the National Board of Trial Advocacy since November 1994. He is also certified by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys as a specialist in the field of medical professional negligence. His experience as a trial lawyer includes experience as a District Attorney General and County Attorney in Anderson County, Tennessee, from 1978 to 1982.
