The Future of Tennessee Legal Research-"TurboTAM"-to be Introduced at Tennessee Bar Association's Law Tech Expo on Friday, January 18

All-New Online Legal Service Designed to Make Popular 'Tennessee Attorneys Memo' Information Even More On-Point and Timesaving

BRENTWOOD, TN, January 16, 2002 - For the past 25 years, Tennessee Attorneys Memo (TAM) has provided a time-saving, authoritative way for Tennessee attorneys to stay up to date on new court opinions on-point with their pending cases. For most of its history, Tennessee Attorneys Memo has been a hard copy, weekly newsletter (which is now subscribed to by virtually every law firm in Tennessee). Starting in 1999, a verbatim electronic version (TAM Online) was introduced for attorneys who preferred receiving their newsletter via e-mail.

Now - in what executives at M. Lee Smith Publishers are calling "the future of legal research in Tennessee" - a new online legal service called TurboTAM is being launched by the Brentwood-based newsletter and information products publishing company. TurboTAM will be demonstrated for the first time in the M. Lee Smith Publishers LLC booth at the Tennessee Bar Association's "Law Tech Expo" to be held at the Hilton Suites located at 121 Fourth Avenue South in downtown Nashville, on Friday January 18, 2002, starting at 9 a.m. Central Time.

"By subscribing to TurboTAM, attorneys across Tennessee will realize an enormous savings in research time, while staying confidently up to date with all court decisions affecting their cases and specific areas of practice," said M. Lee Smith, Chairman and Publisher of M. Lee Smith Publishers LLC.

"Tennessee Attorneys Memo - both the hard-copy and electronic versions - presents definitive summaries of all recent Tennessee court decisions. But TurboTAM is customized to present only those decisions specifically relevant to the subscriber's legal specialty," Smith said.

"For example," Smith said, "if an attorney specializes in family law, TurboTAM will send to that subscriber an e-mail newsletter summarizing only those Tennessee court decisions pertinent to the practice of family law. In this way, the subscriber will save significant time, work far more efficiently, yet stay confidently abreast of the law."

Smith said other benefits of TurboTAM will include the ability to access online more than 56,000 Tennessee case summaries published since 1976 in Tennessee Attorneys Memo.

TurboTAM will be available to Tennessee attorneys and law firms through a site-license agreement only. Those firms already subscribing to TAM Online will be offered the opportunity to upgrade to TurboTAM.

Further information on a TurboTAM site license may be obtained by calling toll free 877-826-5297 or sending an e-mail to darnold@mleesmith.com.
