National Audio Seminar to Clearly Explain How 5 Recent U.S. Supreme Court Decisions Directly Affect the American Workplace

NASHVILLE, TN, September 13, 2004 — During its recently ended 2003-2004 term, the U.S. Supreme Court delivered 5 key rulings on issues directly affecting U.S. employers and their personnel policies. All employers must understand these important rulings to avoid violating federal law.

Now—to help human resources professionals fully understand the Court’s new decisions—M. Lee Smith Publishers will present “U.S. Supreme Court Update: What Every HR Professional MUST Know About the Court’s Latest Employment-Law Rulings,” a live, 90-minute audio seminar to be broadcast nationally on Thursday, September 23 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Central Time.

By listening to this audio seminar, employers, HR professionals, and company benefits specialists will:

  • Learn exactly what the U.S. Supreme Court just said about the new law dealing with ‘constructive discharge’ in a sexual harassment context.
  • Clearly understand the Supreme Court’s headline-grabbing ruling regarding state vs. federal ERISA rights and regulations.
  • Discover precisely what you must know about the expanded statute of limitations for claims of racially hostile work environment—and disparate treatment based on race.
  • Hear how the high court ruled on age discrimination and ‘reverse age discrimination’—and how this new landscape affects an organization.
  • Learn about the Court’s review of benefit issues and why these decisions are so important in this era of cost containment.
