National Audio Conference to Reveal Why Getting Supervisors to Document is a Crucial Lawsuit-Protection Strategy for Businesses - - and How to Get Them to Do It

BRENTWOOD, TN, March 2, 2004 — M. Lee Smith Publishers LLC will present a two-part live nationwide audio conference entitled “Secrets of Motivating Your Supervisors to Document” on Tuesday, March 9 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time (10 to 11:30 a.m. Central) and Tuesday, March 16 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time (10 to 11:30 a.m. Central).

Failure of supervisors to completely and properly document their actions is one of the most serious contributing factors to risking and losing workplace-related lawsuits.

The March 9 session will address the human resources issues involved in getting supervisors to document. It will be presented by Margaret Morford, President of The HR Edge human resources consulting firm, who hosted the nationally-distributed HR video “Running with the Big Dogs: How to Make HR a Strategic Player.”

In her audio conference presentation, Ms. Morford will reveal the inside secrets of motivating supervisors to document. She will explain the 4 key reasons why supervisors avoid documenting work performance problems, and offer 13 proven-effective ways to overcome their reluctance -- including how to structure a corrective action system that supervisors will actually use. She also will provide the tools HR professionals need to develop a training session to prepare supervisors for, and alleviate their fears of, the dreaded face-to-face employee conference.

The March 16 session will address the legal issues involved in getting supervisors to document. It will be presented by Miller & Martin employment law attorney John B. Phillips, Jr., host of the national award-winning workplace law video series ’10 Danger Zones for Supervisors’ and popular editor of ‘Tennessee Employment Law Letter,’ a monthly newsletter for Tennessee employers.

In his session, Mr. Phillips will clearly explain why lawsuits are won or lost based on documentation. He’ll discuss exactly which actions supervisors must document - - and how they must do it. He will reveal the many legal implications of documentation - - and show what supervisors must know about these critical legal issues. Mr. Phillips also will reveal what supervisors must realize about their own personal legal liability, which can result from poor or no documentation.

The cost for the audio conferences is $284 to listen to both sessions, or $167 to listen to either just Session #1 or just Session #2.

Because the two-part “Secrets of Motivating Your Supervisors to Document” is an audio conference (also known as tele-seminar), registrants do not leave their offices to “attend.” They simply tune in to the live 90-minute presentation via their own office speakerphone or telephone and can train as many employees as they like for one per-listening-site fee of $284 (for both audio conferences) or $167 for just Session #1 or just Session #2. Companies register by calling KRM Information Services (which is handling registration for this event) at 800-775-7654.
