Workplace Monitoring, Drug Testing, and Searches: New Legal Considerations Regarding Employer and Employee Rights

Live Webinar: Thursday, June 21, 2018

10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Central / 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Eastern

WEBINAR SNAPSHOT: Attorneys representing employers need to know the latest legal developments related to monitoring and regulating employee behavior, and when such practices will be deemed an invasion of privacy that runs afoul of the law.

If you represent employers, you need to help them ensure that their employees adhere to company policies regarding safety, security and professionalism, while avoiding liability for interfering with employees’ privacy rights or protected conduct.  Are you aware of employers’ limits on social media use, monitoring employee communications, drug and alcohol testing—and the numerous other areas where employees have rights that supersede an employer’s interests in controlling its workplace?

Join us on June 21, when Victoria Sisson will explain the laws regarding the dos and don'ts of regulating and monitoring employee behavior. You will learn about the latest legal developments regarding:

  • Using social media in the hiring process
  • Searching desks, smartphones, lockers, vehicles, equipment, etc.
  • Monitoring employee communications: calls, e-mail and internet use
  • Dress code/personal appearance - what can you regulate?
  • Drug and alcohol testing
  • Workplace violence - preventing and protecting
  • Off-duty behavior and activities
