If you represent clients in Tennessee, you don't want to miss this timely new audio conference from Tennessee Attorneys Memo, Tennessee Non-Smoker Protection Act: Are Your Clients in Compliance?
It's time to help your clients clear the air surrounding the new Tennessee Non-Smoker Protection Act.
As of October 1, smoking is prohibited in all enclosed public spaces within the state, including:
- Restaurants
- Public and private educational facilities
- Health care facilities
- Hotels and motels
- Retail stores and shopping malls
- Sports arenas, including enclosed public areas in outdoor arenas
- Restrooms, lobbies, reception areas, hallways and other common-use areas
- Lobbies, hallways and other common areas in apartment buildings and other multiple-unit residential facilities
- Child care and adult day care facilities
But there are shades of gray regarding the new ban now being enforced by the Tennessee Department of Health and the state's Department of Labor and Workforce Development...
- Where is smoking prohibited by the new law?
- What areas are exempt from the smoking ban?
- What is required of employers or business owners?
- What are the penalties for violating the smoking ban?
- Are bars exempt?
- Will all restaurants be smoke-free?
Register today for this live event and in just 90 minutes you'll get the answers to these questions and learn how to help your clients comply with the act's key provisions:
- Prohibits smoking in all enclosed public places in Tennessee;
- Exempts certain places;
- Makes a person who knowingly smokes in an area where smoking is prohibited subject to a $50 penalty; and
- Requires a business to display appropriate signage at every entrance and sets forth penalties for businesses that knowingly fail to comply with the requirements of the act.
