Chancellor Ellen Hobbs Lyle was appointed to Part III of the Chancery Court of Davidson County in 1996, elected in 1998, and re-elected in 2006.
She began her legal career at the Texas law firm of Watergate prosecutor Leon Jaworski. She returned to practice law in Nashville where she became a partner in the law firm of Trabue, Sturdivant & DeWitt.
Workers' Comp Attorneys:
Mary Dee Allen is a defense attorney with the Cookeville office of Wimberly Lawson Wright Daves & Jones PLLC.
She has been a practicing trial attorney since 1992, handling primarily workers’ compensation defense and employment discrimination defense, in state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
Fred Baker is a defense attorney with the Cookeville office of Wimberly Lawson Wright Daves & Jones PLLC. His practice includes an emphasis in workers’ compensation and employment discrimination, as well as ADA and FMLA compliance. He is the author of the Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Handbook, 4th Edition.
Brad Box is a defense attorney with Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell PLC.
His practice focuses on litigation and trial practice, with emphasis in the areas of business litigation, personal injury, workers' compensation, insurance coverage, and medical malpractice.
Katherine (Kitty) Boyte is a defense attorney with Constangy, Brooks & Smith in Nashville.
Over the past 20 plus years, she has successfully guided many of the largest employers of middle Tennessee through workers’ compensation and employment law issues. She has litigated workers’ compensation cases in over half of the 95 counties in Tennessee.
Wade B. Cowan is of counsel with the Nashville firm of Davies, Humphreys, Horton & Reese PLC. He represents employees in workers’ compensation claims, as well as matters involving employment law civil rights, with an emphasis on employment discrimination claims arising under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and FMLA.
Jason Ensley is a defense attorney with the Ensley Law Firm in Johnson City.
He concentrates his practice in the areas of employment and workers’ compensation litigation. He has been a contributing author to published works relating to Human Resources and the Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Law.
Pamela B. Johnson is a defense attorney with Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan PLLC in Knoxville.
She represents various individuals, employers, businesses and insurers in matters of civil liability, including workers’ compensation defense.
Gregory D. Jordan is a defense attorney with Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell PLC in Jackson.
He has over 25 years experience representing employers in the areas of workers’ compensation and employment law. He has significant experience mediating cases involving personal injury, employment law, and contract disputes.
Bennett L. Pugh, of the Alabama law firm of Carr Allison, is a frequent presenter on Workers’ Compensation Law and Medicare Set-Asides.
He focuses his practice on Medicare compliance and workers’ compensation.
Jeffrey S. Strickland, of Craft and Sheppard PLC, represents injured workers and select clients for subrogation of large loss property damages.
He was a financial consultant for over five years and was a private investor for an additional three years prior to becoming an attorney.
Mark Travis, of Travis ADR Services, LLC, represented public and private sector organizations in employment litigation, labor relations, and civil rights issues for over 20 years before becoming a full-time neutral in 2008.
His alternative dispute resolution practice specializes in the resolution of workplace disputes.
Department of Labor & Workforce Development:
Teresa Bullington is Assistant Administrator of the Workers’ Compensation Division of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. She also oversees the statewide operation of the Benefit Review Program. She is a frequent speaker on workers’ compensation issues and has given presentations at national conferences and to the Tennessee judiciary.
Peter R. (Pete) Halverstadt is Assistant Administrator of the Workers’ Compensation Division of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. He is Director of the Division’s Penalty Program. He also handles legislative responsibilities for the Division and represents several other programs in the Division.
